It's time for monsoon in India.. the time when tourist empty out.. the time for you to get in and explore the place. The place seems like a different destination altogether in monsoon. This week we will take you to 5 destinations where you can enjoy the monsoons like never before starting with Goa.
If you haven’t been to Goa during the monsoons then you have not seen Goa at all. Goa has more to offer than just the beautiful beaches. During the off season time everything goes into hibernation and the rains provide that perfect setting where you can explore the less-visited and exquisite interiors of Goa without the crowd. Not to forget the slashed rates everywhere during this time as well.
There are several places to see in Goa, like the famous The Dudhsagar Fall. This fall is India’s 5th tallest waterfall and is located on the Goa-Karnataka border, about 110 km from Panjim. It’s ideal for the nature lovers, outdoor kind of people and makes it a great place to trek. The spectacular sight of the water fall during the monsoons is worth the watch. There are many tours that are organized to the trekking spot making it a convenient trip.
The other places to visit are Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary and the Mollem
National Park consisting of pristine vegetation, wild mammals and some popular
birds, reptiles and butterflies. Whereas Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary has a mini
zoo and a deer safari making it great for the kids. There’s another one good
reason to visit Goa is the vibrant Goa Monsoon Festival and the carnival like
Bonderam flag festival. The renowned nightlife is minimal however there are
some clubs that rock all year round. So why visit Goa only during the peak
season, if you want to experience Goa the Goan style then monsoon is the best
time to revisit this paradise.
