The capital of Sarawak and the most popular city of Borneo still remains unexplored by many. A 4-5 day trip is good to explore the national park, culture and river safaris at Sarawak with a 7 day trip being ideal. The place offers a wide variety of things to do.

The best way to explore the city is by taking a Walking tour to the city where you will come across the Gigantic Cat Statue (the city’s mascot), the Sarawak museum, the Malay village, mosque and the Old Gambier spice street with their open air market.

Enjoy the thrilling Lemanak River Safari to get to the Batang Ai. Hilton Batang Ai is the usual pit stop for the night where you enjoy the traditional “Ngajat” or War Dance and try the “tuak” (a potent rice wine). Exploring of the jungle at Batang Ai is best done by nature walks which allows you to witness nature closely.

Visit the famous Bako National Park to discover an abundance of botanical treasures, numerous species of birds and animals like the long nosed proboscis monkeys, long tail macaques, wild boars and monitor lizards that live in this coastal rainforest.

An encounter with the Orangutan famous in Sarawak is worth the journey. The Encounter Centre has the Orangutan rescued from captivity and set free in a 643 hectares forest reserve and are nurtured there to readapt themselves to the life in the jungles.
