Eravikulam National Park, also known as the Rajamalai National Park is situated 15 km away from Munnar town. Home to the highly endangered species of mountain goat, the Park was created to preserve the Nilgiri Tahr. A 97 sq km park is spread over rolling grasslands and shola forests. This park is also home to “Neelakurinji”, the flower that blooms once in twelve years. The other fauna found here are Nilgiri Langur, Elephant and a rare sight of the Leopard, Tiger and Indian bison. Anamudi, the highest peak (2695 m) south of Himalayas, stands majestically in the core area of the national park.
